Backyard Entertaining

Clients came to me with the vision of an outdoor lounging space to enjoy with their growing children and guests. A space for chairs, a couch and why not an old-fashioned fireplace. Irregular bluestone slabs were used to create the patio, moss planted with in joints to add that woodland feel. The fireplace was built from stone on their property and unique granite curbing was purchased from a reclamation site for the hearth and mantle. Plantings encompass the patio and consist of material they enjoy and that flows with their existing landscape.

Woodland Garden

Project evolved from a drab shady mud patch into a woodland sitting space with relax and reflect with in. Material consisted of natural material found in the woods, river rounds, compost mulch, birch logs and woodland plant material.

Screening & Pockets of Color

A tired backyard border is revamped with evergreen vertical screening with the vertical accent of a flowering Pear tree to add ascetics and broad screening. In addition a few pockets of color have been added to the landscape, perennial Geranium!
